Nothing much has been going on and that was why the lack of update I think. Most importantly I think that leaves me some time for myself too. Time to sit down and think, remembering the old days, current days and what the future holds for me. Sometimes, I cant help but wonder what will happen in the near future.

A lecturer once asked me about 5 years ago “Where would you see yourself in the next 25 years?”
or something. The only thing I could think off then was “6 feet under”. Ironically, nothing has changed in that 5 years. I still think of the same thing. What? I’m not being optimistic in life? Maybe.. I’m just confused as everyone is I guess. So, let’s all be confused. Sit in the shower or where you think is a good place for you to have a deep thought on something. Let’s all try to decide on what is life really about and if you have an answer.. do let me know. I’m sure I would love to know.

I hate it whenever this happens, but I guess somethings are just not meant to be. After several times of testing and playing around with it, inetUtils is still loading slow. I took most of the things down the and speed is still the same. I guess having an international host is seriously a bad idea for us Malaysians. Anyone knows any not-so-expensive Malaysian hosting that allows php’s exec(), shell() and so on? I haven’t been able to locate any.

The following are the latest changes on inetUtils that I’ve made. The hoster blocks outgoing connection on port 25 so the open relay test script I made was taken down. Ping has been disabled as well, so the page has been removed. Luckily, I’m still allowed to connect to port 80, so the Youtube Video Download script is still running. Yeah, you can download Youtube videos from my link. I know there’s a lot of places, software’s that can be used for that purpose but still, I insist on having my own. Please do check it out, who knows.. you just “might” like it.

Some might know that I used to be writing back in 2004, 2005 and somehow I just went missing. I don’t know if it might be of interest to anyone but here’s a brief detail of why did that happen in the first place.

In 2004, I was writing in Nucleus CMS and then I just decided to moved to Wordpress. By then, I’ve already purchased another domain called Hallajs.net. After a while, I got to know some people and eventually figured out that there was actually a community of writers (thanks to PPS). Those days, it was fun because there’s simply no one to bother about what you write. Then again, the community back then was smaller than the one we see today.

I remembered in my early days being friends with the likes of Suanie, Peter Tan, frostier, Stanch and of course.. there rest who I did not mention (No worries, I did not forget any of you.. it’s simply too long to write. If you’re really not satisfied, do let me know and I’ll be sure to add your link. Make sure I do remember you tho :)) Eventually, a few fellow friends fell during that period, Jason from Buangmasa.net and Hustler from The HuStLeR DiaRieS. Well, it’s wrong to say Hustler fell but then again, he went in the other direction. I dont want to talk too much about him now, he’s still a buddy and I still read his page to get a hard on support him. Things just change I guess.

Somewhere along the lines, I found out that I could actually manipulate the hoster’s of Hallajs.net. In a way, being ebil to them and yea, this is where you would guess it correctly. I abused their system and had about 30GB to 40GB of illegal materials on particular home directory and was sharing it with the world under the flag of warez. Will I get sued for writing this? I sure hope I wouldn’t *LOL*. Eventually, they figured it out after about 4 to 5 months of my operations and decided to ban my hosting. I don’t blame them really but I did request for the name hallajs.net to be released.

Them, being nice and all, refused to do so and eventually locked the name out. I had no choice but to stop writing. Afterall, I did write under ‘Hallajs’ back then and was damn proud of it. I put a hold on my blogging life and waited for the name to be released. In 2007, somewhere in July I believe.. the name was finally released and guess what? Someone bought it already!! They’re planning to have it on auction and the starting bid would be $200. Yeah, that’s 200USD and I don’t think I’d be paying that much to get it back. At least, not yet.

So, here I am.. given up on Hallajs.net and decided to just utilize this page since it’s not really in use. I guess it’s better for me to just use it rather than continuously paying for it and not using it at all. Anyway, I guess I’m boring any of those who’s reading already. So, this is where I say adios! I tried to change my DocType from XHTML 1.0 Strict to XHTML 1.1 and it failed miserably. Several errors when loading from my Opera 9.23 was spotted. Normally, it comes from some unconditional breaks or even there’s a syntax error. I guess I just need a bit more time to play around with it. It’ll take a few more days, weeks, months or even years before I put it in I guess. Seems to be rather weird on my side so far. Oh, Content-Type application/xhtml+xml wouldn’t be recognized by Internet Explorer (IE) 6 as well. Not sure how well IE7 would do but oh well. Other known errors from my eyes were the images. It simply wouldn’t load and it made me wonder what’s wrong.

After all the testing, what was my conclusion? Stick with the current DocType until I figure out what’s wrong with it before moving. I have to say, I have not played with XHTML 1.1 ever before. It’s time to sit down and read about it I guess. Anyway, it’s going to be first Ramadan soon. Boo! I’ve updated my theme and I guess it looks rather awful. Me and graphics simply wouldn’t tag along fine.
